After many months of planning and a lot of anticipation, Z and I left on our 50+ day travel adventure to Europe and a crossing of the Atlantic on the way home. Those of you who know us, have probably heard about this trip since February of 2013, when we booked a river ship cruise with our friends Dave and Adrienne.
This long vacation grew from a desire to experience a "long boat" cruise in Europe. We selected Viking Cruise Lines and a itinerary that included Lyon and continued south on the Rhone River to Avignon.
As our itinerary solidified, a lot of work (co-ordination and planning) was ably fashioned into a marvelous plan.
We have had a year of change including the (still ongoing) relocation of our son's family from New York to Michigan. I can't begin to express how thankful I am to have Z as a travel planner. Her love of travel is only exceeded by her love of her grand children and possibly "crafting" with her friends.
As I write this, we are in Pau, France at the foot of the Pyrenees Mountains. Our trip has been very memorable for a number of reason's. I hope to convey some of our adventures while in France. Tomorrow we leave for Spain and the Bay of Biscay
